A long overdue review: The Hush Tarot

This post has been a long time coming. The Hush Tarot has held a special place in my heart and practice since the very beginning of my journey with Gray Witch Tarot LLC, and I think it’s finally time I give it the love and spotlight it deserves.

When I first began this path professionally, my husband Charles gifted me the Hush Tarot as a symbol of support and belief in what I was creating. It wasn’t just a deck—it felt like a quiet whisper of encouragement, wrapped in art and mystery. That gesture alone gives this deck a deeply personal significance in my practice, but even beyond the sentiment, the Hush Tarot stands out as a powerful and evocative tool for any serious reader.

Dark Beauty and Subconscious Depths

One of the most striking things about the Hush Tarot is its darker undertones. This deck doesn’t shy away from the shadowy parts of the psyche—in fact, it invites you to explore them. It’s a perfect companion for shadow work, inner healing, and readings that dive beneath the surface of everyday concerns.

Each card seems to pull you into a dreamlike world of the subconscious, where symbolism is layered, intuitive, and often hauntingly beautiful. It’s not a deck that gives you easy answers—it gives you real ones.

A Visual Experience: Watercolor Whimsy with a Gothic Touch

The artwork by Jeremy Hush is nothing short of stunning. Delicate and intricate, the illustrations are done in a subtle, earthy palette that feels like an old storybook unearthed from another realm. The use of watercolors adds a softness to the otherwise dark, gothic themes, creating an interesting contrast that makes the deck visually compelling.

Every time I work with this deck, I find new details I hadn’t noticed before—tiny creatures hiding in the corners, subtle symbolism woven into the backgrounds, expressions that change depending on the mood of the reading. It’s artwork that breathes.

A Favorite for Livestreams and Spiritual Clients

If you’ve caught one of my livestream tarot sessions, chances are you’ve seen me use the Hush Tarot. It’s a favorite for those more spiritually tuned-in readings where people are seeking depth, transformation, and healing. Many of my spiritual clients are naturally drawn to this deck—there’s just something about its energy that resonates on a soul level.

It’s not just a tool; it’s a conversation piece. When I lay these cards out, clients often pause to admire the art before we even begin the reading. That connection, that moment of awe, opens a door to a more meaningful exchange.

Final Thoughts

The Hush Tarot isn’t a beginner-friendly deck in the traditional sense, but for those looking to dive deeper—whether you’re doing the work for yourself or holding space for others—it’s incredibly rewarding. It challenges, it reveals, and it heals.

I’m grateful every day that this was the first deck I received when Gray Witch Tarot LLC was born. It helped shape the kind of reader I am today—one who’s not afraid to go deep, ask the tough questions, and honor the shadows just as much as the light.

If you’re considering adding the Hush Tarot to your collection, I highly recommend it—especially if you’re called to the realm of shadow work and spiritual transformation.

Until next time—stay grounded, stay curious, and trust your intuition.
